Watch the Video for Muse’s New Single, ‘Dig Down’
Muse has released a new single and video for their song "Dig Down," which you can listen to above. The song is about fighting for what's right when your back is against the wall, the band said in a press release.
"When I was writing this song, I was looking to counteract the current negativity in the world and give inspiration, optimism and hope to people to fight for the causes they believe in; that as individuals we can choose to change the world if we want to," songwriter and frontman Matt Bellamy said.
The track was co-produced by the band and Mike Elizondo.
The accompanying video, which you can watch above, was directed by Lance Drake. It features Lauren Wasser, a model who lost her leg due to toxic shock syndrome. Drake said, "The song is about survival and fighting the odds — when I heard this song I knew I wanted to do an action packed narrative. I'd heard about Lauren a year or so ago, I read her story and she gave me personal inspiration so I'd always kept her in mind to shoot with one day. The power of the song made me think of her ... so I wrote the video narrative based on Lauren's story and how she overcame the odds."
The band begins North American tour on May 20 in West Palm Beach, Fla. This includes a headlining slot at Lollapalooza on Aug. 3.
Muse have yet to announce information about a new album. Their last release was 2015's Drones.
