Recently, Carl Barat – who is about to drop his debut album, ‘Let It Reign,’ with his band the Jackals on Feb. 16 – said he’d “love to work with” Noel Gallagher on the Libertine’s highly anticipated reunion album.

“I’m going to email Noel Gallagher,” he told NME. “I know he’s really busy, but hopefully he’s got a bit of time for the Libertines who love him so.”

Gallagher is busy with his upcoming sophomore album with the High Flying Birds, and he recently responded to Barat’s request, saying that, unfortunately, the timing just won't work out.

“We’ve exchanged a few emails but unfortunately they want to do it in Thailand,” Gallagher said in an interview with NME. “With the best will in the world, I’m on tour and I can’t do it. I would genuinely love to be involved but they’re going to do it in Thailand and I can’t be in Thailand.”

Gallagher is on tour in support of his upcoming album, ‘Chasing Yesterday,’ which is due out March 3.
