As previously reported, the Replacements will release the 'Songs for Slim' reunion EP in an extremely small quantity. Only 250 copies of the five-song set will be auctioned off to benefit former member Slim Dunlap, who suffered a stroke last year. That's some small batch, but as the Minneapolis Star-Tribune has revealed, the music will also see commercial release via download and vinyl. Equally exciting: Former drummer Chris Mars plays on the record, contrary to prior reports, adding a solo version of Dunlap's 'Radio Hook Word Hit.'

'Mats fans should mark their calendars, as the auction is slated to launch on Jan. 15 and last a mere 10 days. However, if you are unable or unwilling to bid, you can wait until the auction ends, since the EP will be released to radio and digital service providers. It will be printed on standard vinyl for mass distribution via New West Records, the label founded by ex-Replacements manager Peter Jesperson.

In addidtion to recording Dunlap's 'Radio Hook Word Hit,' Mars contributed the original artwork. The full tracklisting is below.
