As part of the first day of Hype Hotel's weeklong festivities in Austin, Texas, San Fermin set the bar exceptionally high. With only a few years under their belt, they won over this year's SXSW crowd with their beautiful blend of baroque pop and indie rock. Needless to say, we are thrilled to share just a small taste of their Hype Hotel performance with you -- check out the dangerously catchy "Crueler Kind" in the video above.

Originally from Brooklyn, San Fermin have been busy since they formed in 2011. They released their debut self-titled full-length in 2013 and this year followed it up with Jackrabbit. All the time in-between, they’ve found themselves on the road, taking their sounds all over the world.

If you have not had a chance to see San Fermin yet, we get the feeling the Hype Hotel video will entice you to go out and catch them. They have a few shows in New York City this month followed by a jaunt across Europe, but don’t worry, they’ll be back stateside in early May. You can find their full tour itinerary here.

And in case you want to revisit some of our favorite gigs at this year’s installment of Hype Hotel, make sure to check out all of our coverage at this location.
