Jack White, Paul McCartney + More to Appear on ‘SNL’ 40th Anniversary Special
This Sunday (Feb. 15), Saturday Night Live will celebrate its 40th anniversary with an epic, three-hour special. The Saturday sketch show has long since produced standout comic talent, but it’s also played host to countless stellar musical guest spots. To pay tribute to both facets, the star-packed guest list includes comedians and musicians alike – the latter of which includes Jack White, Paul McCartney, Arcade Fire, Fiona Apple, Elvis Costello, Paul Simon and more.
Naturally, the musical guests will appear alongside a long list of actors and comedians who SNL helped launch to fame, including Adam Sandler, Amy Poehler, Andy Samberg, Fred Armisen, Billy Crystal, Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, Tina Fey and Will Ferrell – which is only to name a few. Check out the full roster below:
The special has been described as a bigger version of SNL’s weekly episodes, which no doubt means there will be lots of sketches and musical performances. We can only hope that there will be some crossover, and we’ll get to see Jack White deliver more cowbell or Fiona Apple help anchor Weekend Update.
We’ll just have to wait and tune in to find out when the SNL 40th anniversary special airs on Sunday, Feb. 15, on NBC at 8PM ET.
