One of the standout performances of Mountain Jam 2015 came from Austin, Texas' own Shakey Graves. With his raw, passionate approach to Americana rock, he captivated the audience from the second he walked out onto the West Stage at Hunter Mountain, New York, on Saturday, June 6.

Following his Mountain Jam gig, we had the chance to catch up with Shakey -- you might know him as Alejandro Rose-Garcia -- about what it was like to play the fest, how he feels leading the pack of Americana Music Awards nominations this year, and why Nashville is like Austin's "older sister, or your weird aunt that is kind of cool and will smoke a joint with you ever one in awhile."

He also opened up about how he finds time to be lazy when he's touring. While he admits being on the road can be a lot of work, he quickly adds, "We are playing music, so it's not brain surgery."
