When Spoon took the Hype Hotel stage at SXSW this year, we knew we were in for an amazing show. Fans' expectations were high even before getting into the venue; after all, hometown shows don't get much better than Spoon at SXSW. Once inside the Hype Hotel, though, it was obviously going to be an unforgettable gig ... and Spoon lived up to the, well, hype!

Britt Daniel and company tore through an energetic set in front of a packed audience, and one of the highlights of the set came courtesy of the opening track of Spoon's latest LP, They Want My Soul, "Rent I Pay." Fortunately, the experience was captured on film -- check it out in the video above.

They Want My Soul marks the band's eighth full-length effort, and is out now via Loma Vista. Spoon have a few weeks off as they get ready for a string of dates in May, including appearances at a number of festivals. You can check out their full tour itinerary here.
