As Flaming Lips members Steven Drozd and Wayne Coyne continue to explore the intricacies of their new space-rock project the Electric Wurms, they haven't lost sight of the Lips' future. Opening up in an exclusive interview, Drozd suggests that the band could start work on their next record as soon as this fall.

"It seems like the time will be coming up," the multi-instrumentalist tells us. "Sometimes we’ll have three years in-between records, sometimes we’ll have less time than that. I feel like we’ll at least start talking about it after these next couple of months."

Drozd also opens up about a certain pop star: "Not that it ever really dies down, but now we’re talking about recording more stuff with Miley Cyrus. As far as the new Lips record, I could see us beginning that process in the fall for sure."

Drozd and Coyne -- along with Nashville's Linear Downfall -- are preparing for the release of the Electric Wurms' debut album, 'Musik, Die Schwer Zu Twerk,' on Aug. 19 via Warner Bros. Records. Get details here.
