Swedish House Mafia Concert Ends in Violence
In what's becoming a disturbing trend during the electronic trio's farewell tour, a Swedish House Mafia concert on Saturday (July 14) was marred by multiple stabbings.
Police say three men suffered knife injuries during the show, which took place at the Milton Keynes Bowl in England. There were no deaths, and their wounds ranged from serious -- one of the victims is still in the hospital, where he's being treated for a punctured lung -- to minor, with one man released after being treated at the scene.
The incident comes one week after four concertgoers were stabbed at the band's Dublin concert, with five more fans injured during a "fight involving knives and broken bottles."
Law enforcement is currently seeking the assailant. Spinner reports that he's being described as "a white male in his early 20s who was seen wearing a blue Nike T-shirt, black jogging pants and a black jacket."
Last weekend's incident adds up to seven stabbings in less than a month for the Swedish House Mafia tour, but police aren't calling it an epidemic just yet. "This appears to have been an isolated incident," cautioned Detective Chief Inspector Justin Fletcher. "Overall we are very pleased with how the event passed off, but we would like to trace the person responsible for this assault."
