The lineup for Optimus Primavera Sound 2013 – set to take place from May 30-June 1 in Porto, Portugal’s Parque da Cidade – has been announced. Hosted by the same folks behind the Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona, the event will feature My Bloody Valentine, Grizzly Bear, Blur and many more.

The lineup for Primavera Sound 2013 has been announced. The festival – set to take place from May 22-25 right near the heart of Barcelona, Spain – will showcase dozens of well-known acts, including Blur, Grizzly Bear and the Postal Service.

No band is an island. The best songwriters tend to be sponge-like soaker-uppers of music, film, fine art, literature and other forms of culture, be they popular or obscure, and these influences often find their way into the music, helping listeners branch out and develop new interests...

-- Blur have already given us one gigantic box set this year, and now they're prepping another, though this one's slightly smaller. On Dec. 3, the Brit-poppers drop 'Parklive,' a six-disc -- five CDS, one DVD -- set commemorating their Olympics-closing concert at London's Hyde Park, as well as a more intimate gig at the 100 Club.

Last August, Blur frontman Damon Albarn said the band's Hyde Park show would be "definitely our last gig in this country this year and probably for a long time" -- but despite initial fears that Blur would be calling it quits, it looks like they'll be hitting the road again next year.

Even though Blur have most likely called it quits and the Stone Roses haven't released a new album since 1994, each bands is up for two Q Awards this year. The popular British music magazine, which present the awards, announced its nominees earlier today (Sept. 6).
