The Cure opened up the first of a three-night residency at London’s Hammersmith Eventim Apollo on Sunday (Dec. 21), for which the Robert Smith-fronted rockers promised two-and-half-hour sets complete with “songs drawn from their entire 37-year-old catalog, including deep cuts, pop songs, fan favorites and surprises galore.” Check out the full set list below.

Fans in attendance certainly weren’t disappointed, as the first of the trio of Christmas shows offered up a staggering 40-song set with four encores. Beloved Cure staples  including ‘Close to Me’ (watch it above) and ‘Just Like Heaven’ (watch below) were all heard alongside rarer tracks, including ‘The Wailing Wall’ and ‘The Empty World’which were both played live for the first time in 30 years.

The Cure’s most recent album, ‘4:13 Dream,’ arrived back in 2008, and it will be followed next year with a new album made up of new material and previously unreleased songs.
