U2 have experienced mass success that only a few bands could ever dream of matching, let alone exceeding. The Irish rockers embarked on the most successful world tour in history from 2009 to 2011, performing 110 shows across five continents during their U2 360° run. U2 showed their appreciation to fans by letting members of U2.com decide the final tracklisting for their new live album, 'U22.'

Subscribers of U2.com were allowed to listen to 46 live tracks from the U2 360° tour over a span of three months. Members voted on their favorite songs and the top 22 made the final cut. Hits like 'Beautiful Day,' from their 2000 comeback album 'All That You Can't Leave Behind,' and their 1987 'The Joshua Tree' classic, 'With or Without You,' made the list, but there are a few notable songs that just fell short of making the disc. 'Pride (In The Name of Love)' and 'Sunday Bloody Sunday' were surprisingly left off the list, replaced by fan favorites like 'Moment of Surrender,' 'Bad,' 'Zooropa' and 'Stay (Faraway, So Close).'

U2 haven't skimped on the packaging for 'U22' either. The two-CD set will be enclosed in an over-sized book full of photos from the tour. Fans who sign up as a member at U2.com will receive access to 12 tracks from the live collection.

In related news, U2 guitarist the Edge's mother sadly passed away earlier this month. Gwenda Evans was the band's biggest supporter early in their career, and had a huge influence on her son's musical aspirations.

”Both my husband and I are very musical, in that we both sing in the local choir,” she said in 2008. “I used to sing to the children, so he [Edge] had a good ear for music at a very young age.”
