Ben Folds Five teamed up with the fuzzy creatures of Jim Henson’s ‘Fraggle Rock’ for their 'Do It Anyway' clip, our first Video of the Year nominee. Best Coast showed off the best of the West Coast with 'The Only Place.' The Black Keys and rapper RZA duked it out in the ‘The Baddest Man Alive’ short. Cat Power battled the zombie apocalypse in her 'Cherokee' clip. Coldplay animated a comic book for 'Hurts Like Heaven.' Deadmau5 went big budget -- and recruited My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way -- for ‘Professional Griefers.’ And Ellie Golding dazzled us with special effects in 'Anything Could Happen.'

Elsewhere, Green Day got literal with their 'Stray Heart' clip. Grizzly Bear found the surreal side of ice skating with 'Yet Again.' Muse explored the dark side of the London Underground with their 'Madness' video. No Doubt kept on trucking in 'Settle Down.' Lana Del Rey continued her epic approach to making videos with 'Ride.' Jack White worked with Hype Williams on the 'Freedom at 21' joint. Actress Michelle Williams appeared in -- and delivered a voice-over during -- Wild Nothing's 'Paradise.' And there was water, water everywhere in the XX's 'Chained' clip.
