You used to call Sufjan Stevens on his cell phone -- or so he would have you believe following a cover of Drake’s “Hotline Bling” in Jersey City, N.J., over the weekend.

Stevens worked Drake’s viral hit into his set with some help from L.A.-based R&B singer Gallant. The two artists performed in front of a backdrop that alternated between the “Hotline Bling” artwork and a giant photo of Drake. They even trotted out some moves that would most certainly make Drizzy proud. Check it out in the fan-shot video above.

Stevens is currently on tour behind his latest album, Carrie & Lowell. The run of dates continues tomorrow (Nov. 3) in Pittsburgh. From there, he has more U.S. stops planned through Nov. 13, when he’ll play a show in Cincinnati. Then, Stevens heads to Australia and New Zealand. You can find ticket information at the singer’s website.

Carrie & Lowell is out now on Asthmatic Kitty. The album landed back in March following 2010’s The Age of Adz.
