Watch U2’s ‘Song for Someone’ Short Film Starring Woody Harrelson
In as grandiose a fashion as we've come to expect from U2, the Irish rock legends released a new video for their track "Song for Someone," from their 2014 album, Songs of Innocence, which might still be lingering in your iTunes library, as the group gave it to all users for free. The music video is actually more of a short film, an eight-minute clip starring Woody Harrelson as a prisoner being released after years of incarceration. Check it out below.
The video, directed by Vincent Haycock, debuted on SundanceTV yesterday and also features Harrelson's daughter, Zoe. The clip aired following the season premiere of the SundanceTV series Rectify, to which the Song for Someone video shares thematic similarities: Rectify tells the story of Daniel Holden, who was released from prison after 19 years of death row. Watch it here.
U2 are currently on tour, and their complete upcoming schedule, which includes eight consecutive concerts at Madison Square Garden in New York City, can be found on their website.
