Who's the dude rockin' the sweet 'fro in the above photo? We'll give you a few clues, starting with the fact that he has less hair these days. Considerably less hair. 

The band this guy helped form back in the early '80s broke up last year. During their 30 years together, they basically helped shape indie rock as we now know it. They graduated from sloppy club shows to playing arenas.

In the early days, the luxuriously locked singer mumbled his words a lot. To this day, even old-school fans can't figure out what he's saying on those first few records. But as he and his band became more confident performers, he started singing his words more clearly.
