Zooey Deschanel's divorce from Ben Gibbard, her husband of three years, was finalized by a judge in Los Angeles on Wednesday (Dec. 12), the AP reports (via Billboard.com).

The star of the Fox comedy 'New Girl' and the Death Cab for Cutie frontman were married in September 2009 near Seattle, Wash., and separated some two years later, on Nov. 1, 2011. Deschanel subsequently filed for divorce on Dec. 27, 2009, citing irreconcilable differences.

Court records do not reveal financial details of the split, but it does state that counseling or mediation cannot repair the former couple's marriage. Deschanel, who moonlights in the duo She & Him with singer-songwriter M. Ward, has been romantically linked to screenwriter Jamie Linden in recent months. She was nominated for a Golden Globe for her work on 'New Girl' last week.

Gibbard, who issued a new solo album titled 'Former Lives' this summer, has not been linked to a "new girl" in the time since Deschanel filed for divorce.
