Cat Power, ‘Cherokee’ – New Video
Cat Power‘s Chan Marshall directs the video for ‘Cherokee,’ the first single off her latest album, ‘Sun,’ and the result is something along the lines of a ‘Mad Max’ survivalist colony in the desert meets futuristic zombies from ‘The Walking Dead,’ but with the budget of a straight-to-cable B movie.
It may be bad, but awesomely so — and the vibe of the clip actually does seem fit with the song. But longtime fans may be shocked to see what fighting sci-fi ghouls has done to Marshall’s gorgeous hair. We knew she chopped it off for the cover of ‘Sun,’ but a bottle of bleach later, it now looks like … well, see for yourself.
