Fiona Apple Announces 2012 Summer Tour

What are you up to this summer, Fiona Apple fans? Wait, don't answer that -- it was a trick question. The real answer is "Catching Fiona on her first tour since 2005, because she's hitting the road to promote her new album 'The Idler Wheel is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw, and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do.'" (Try saying that 10 times fast.)

Apple has just announced a run of summer dates that will take her from coast to coast between June 19, when the tour kicks off in Ithaca, N.Y., and July 29, when it concludes in Hollywood, Calif. The tour's first stop coincides with the release of 'The Idler Wheel,' Apple's fourth studio album and first since 2005's 'Extraordinary Machine.'

Although we've seen the cover art and track listing for the new album, some details are still being kept under wraps; we still don't know, for instance, who produced it, or which musicians appear on the songs. But in the meantime, we can look forward to the release of the first single, 'Every Single Night,' on April 24 -- the same day the album will be available for pre-order at iTunes.
