Foo Fighters Unveil Fourth New ‘Concrete and Gold’ Song, ‘Sunday Rain’

The Foo Fighters have premiered another new tune from their forthcoming album Concrete and Gold. Check out “Sunday Rain” via the above embedded video, which features fan-shot footage from a show in Riga, Latvia.

Drummer Taylor Hawkins takes over vocals for this track, which is marked by an easy-going, almost jam-band vibe. Typical frontman Dave Grohl previously described Concrete and Gold as being like “Motorhead’s version of Sgt. Pepper’s.”

This is the fourth song previewed by the Foo Fighters, who at one point last year were incorrectly rumored to be on the verge of breaking up. They played “The Sky Is a Neighborhood” in May at the Fillmore in San Francisco, then released a raucous video for “Run.” They played “Lah Dee Dah” earlier this month at the Secret Solstice Festival in Reykjavik, Iceland.

Concrete and Gold, the Foo Fighters’ ninth album, is due on Sept. 15. A string of North American dates will follow, beginning in October. Their first stop is at Cal Jam in San Bernadino, Calif. The new album was produced by Greg Kurstin of the Bird and the Bee, who has also worked with Adele, Pink and Sia.

Foo Fighters ended up responding to the rumors of a possible split in 2016 by trolling everyone via a hilarious video. Not only did they confirm that the band wasn’t breaking up, they also said “nobody’s f—ing going solo.”
