As if the 2015 edition of Mountain Jam wasn’t exciting enough -- we've already helped announce that the Black Keys, Gov’t Mule and moe. will all be rocking Hunter Mountain, N.Y. June 4-7 -- today (Jan. 14), we received some earth-shattering news: Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters, Alabama Shakes and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals have all been added to the lineup (check out the full festival poster below and purchase tickets here).

Let’s go through this one by one, shall we?

Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters

What more needs to be said about the Led Zeppelin icon? He’s a legend and arguably one of the most important rock frontmen to ever exist. And with the Sensational Space Shifters, he’s pushing himself into new and uncharted territories with “the sounds of Southside Chicago electric Blues; of Griot mantras from West Africa; from Louisiana Dance Halls; Greenwich Village Folk hangover; Haight Ashbury indulgences; Moroccan medina breakbeat; the early English radical techno materials; Texas two-step and Bristol Dubstep.” Oh, and one more thing: He and the Sensational Space Shifters have been working some killer Zeppelin tunes into their live show -- who knows what they’ll have up their sleeves for Mountain Jam?!

Alabama Shakes

Alabama Shakes crashed onto our radars when we saw them open for Jack White during his ‘Blunderbuss’ tour in 2012. Since then, we’ve been mesmerized with their sound and their onstage energy. For two years now, we’ve had ‘Boys & Girls’ -- their debut album -- on repeat, and we can’t wait to get our hands on their sophomore effort later this year. All we can say is this: We’re guessing the Shakes are going to debut some new material live for the Mountain Jam audience, and that is worth the price of admission!

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals

Hailing from Vermont, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals came up in the world of festivals. When they first started, it wasn’t uncommon for them to play upwards of 200 shows a year -- and this was on top of being an independent rock band self-releasing their own music. Nowadays, they’ve been celebrating their latest effort, 2012’s ‘The Lion the Beast the Beat.’ Could there be new music in their future? We’re keeping our fingers crossed, and hopefully we’ll get a taste of it at Mountain Jam.

The Full 2015 Lineup -- June 4-7, 2015

Mountain Jam is packed with way more than just a few acts, too. Also added to this year's lineup are festival staples Michael Franti & Spearhead, Trigger Hippy, Benjamin Booker, the Wailers, Nicki Bluhm & the Gramblers, Shakey Graves, Rusted Root, Big Gigantic, Rebelution, Joe Russo's Almost Dead, Railroad Earth, Lake Street Dive, Jon Cleary, the Budos Band, Dopapod, Amy Helm & the Handsome Strangers, Hurray For the Ruff Raff, Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams, Marco Benevento, the Mother Hips, Nikki Lane, and Sons of Bill. If that wasn't enough, don't worry; there are still more bands to be announced!
