Last month, Nicki Bluhm and the Gramblers unveiled “Waiting on Love,” the latest single from their then-forthcoming album, Loved Wild Lost. The San Francisco-based outfit’s sophomore effort has now arrived in stores, and today (May 27), they’ve debuted the official music video for the song.

The Todd Hurvitz-directed clip boasts an impressive cityscape constructed entirely with cardboard by the Cardboard Institute of Technology in San Francisco. However, it’s all for naught, as the video’s stars -- Parenthood actor Jason Ritter and Togetherness actress Melanie Lynskey -- portray a couple so much in love they're blind to the fact they’re literally crushing the cardboard city around them. Check it out in the video up above.

“‘Waiting on Love’ is a jangly, feel-good song about busted hearts trying to hold things together,” the Gramblers’ Deren Ney said in a press release. “We wanted to capture that feeling of a warm and fuzzy punch in the gut for the music video and were thrilled to have Jason and Melanie on board to help us tell the story of this doomed couple bringing an imaginary city to its knees. It was a beautiful creation, like a storybook come to life -- and we had a blast watch it get torn to shreds.”

Nicki Bluhm and the Gramblers’s ongoing North American tour picks up on June 5 at this year’s Mountain Jam in Hunter Mountain, New York. From there, they have stops scheduled through September.
