Former Acid Test DJ Mike Harland died on Wednesday, May 16, though a cause of death is still unknown at this time. The Toronto, Canada native went on to join 10,000 Watt Head after Acid Test disbanded in 1994.

Acid Test formed in 1990 and remained active for four years, releasing their only major label album, ‘Drop,’ in 1993 before going on hiatus. The band opened for acts like Nine Inch Nails and also recorded several songs that appeared on the soundtrack to the 1992 cult classic film ‘Highway 61.’

“To be honest, we’re just having fun right now,” Harland told Wavelength Magazine in 2006 when discussing 10,000 Watt Head. “There’s really only so far you can take a noise/improve band. For now, just fun times and trying to weasel into as many cool shows as possible.”
