Rockers We’ve Lost in 2012: Peter Jones
Former Crowded House drummer Peter Jones died on Friday, May 18, after losing his bout with brain cancer. He was 49. Jones joined Crowded House in 1994 after founding drummer Paul Hester left the band and remained behind the drum kit until the group’s initial split in 1996.
Crowded House informed fans of Jones’ tragic death on their website, stating, “We are in mourning today for the death of Peter Jones. We remember him as a warm-hearted, funny and talented man, who was a valuable member of Crowded House. He played with style and spirit. We salute him and send out love and best thoughts to his family and friends.”
Sadly, this isn’t the first tragedy that Crowded House had to deal with as far as past drummers go. Hester committed suicide in 2005 after battling a severe case of depression.
