New Silversun Pickups Album ‘Neck of the Woods’ Now Streaming
Three years have passed since Silversun Pickups released their sophomore album 'Swoon.' It was the successful follow-up to their critically-acclaimed debut, 2006's 'Carnavas.' The Los Angeles, Calif. shoegazers seem to be following the same album cycle as they will release their third record 'Neck of the Woods' next week. Stream the entire album now before it hits stores.
Silversun Pickups pick up (sorry) where they left off with 'Swoon.' Opening track 'Skin Graph' starts with a reserved guitar riff but proceeds to unleash itself into a fury. The song goes up and down in intensity to give listeners a breather, much like the rest of 'Neck of the Woods.'
Frontman Brian Aubert's unmistakable vocals have retained its rawness, but there are times when his voice could be placed on a dream pop track and not sound out of place. Lead single 'Bloody Mary (Nerve Endings)' is a perfect example. The Smashing Pumpkins influence is still there but the band have branched out with their third effort. Stream the entire album below.
Silversun Pickups will release 'Neck of the Woods' on May 8. They will celebrate by performing on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' the same night. The band shot a video for 'Bloody Mary,' which you can view photos from the set here. They have a string of festival dates starting this month but no headlining tour has been announced as of yet.
