Already on the road for an orchestra-backed spring sojourn -- one for which frontman Ben Gibbard had the jitters in prepping for -- inde rock stalwarts Death Cab for Cutie will continue their relentless touring through the summer season, including festival dates across the Midwest and up through the Northeast.

On Tuesday, April 17, Death Cab for Cutie will perform in Chicago at the Windy City's Chicago Theater. However, those who are unable to make it the historic theater on the corner of State and Lake. The concert will be streamed live on Fuse's YouTube channel.

After months of anticipation, Death Cab for Cutie launched their tour backed by San Francisco's Magik*Magik Orchestra. The indie rock megastars have reworked their songs to be complemented by the orchestra, which frontman Ben Gibbard admits was something that scared the band.

Another early spring day, another festival announced. Today (April 3) it was Des Moines, Iowa's turn to get in on all the fun, as the Greater Des Moines Music Coalition announced that Death Cab for Cutie and the Avett Brothers will headline the fifth annual 80/35 Festival. The festival will take place on July 6 and 7 at Western Gateway Park in downtown Des Moines.

Midwestern music fans who were too slow to get three-day passes to this summer's Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago have an alternative that very same weekend. The inaugural Bunbury Music Festival will take place July 13-15 along Cincinnati's riverfront, with Jane's Addiction, Weezer and Death Cab for Cutie headlining the festival's three days.
