In support of their impending 20-date European tour -- set to kick off May 15 in Haarlem, Netherlands -- the Gories are releasing a very special 7" via Third Man Records.

"Be Nice" b/w "On the Run" marks the band's first 7" of new material in over two decades; "Be Nice" is originally by the Nomads and "On the Run" is, according to a statement, "the first original badass Collins/Kroha composition in forever." (Both Mick Collins and Dan Kroha are the band's guitarists and vocalists; Peggy O'Neill is on drums.)

The single will hit the streets on May 19, and you can get a taste of what to expect with a clip of "Be Nice" below:

While stateside fans will be able to pick up the 7" at Third Man's storefront in Nashville and online, the lucky ones who see the Gories in Europe will have an opportunity to snag the coveted -- and highly limited -- tri-color 7" that's exclusive to the tour.

The Gories originally formed in Detroit in the mid-'80s and quickly became known for their brand of raw, gritty, blues-influenced garage rock -- so in other words, a perfect fit with Third Man Records.

This isn't the band's first interaction with Jack White's label; Third Man released an archived Gories concert dubbed The Shaw Tapes: Live in Detroit 5/27/88and also put out Kroha's solo effort, Angels Watching Over Me.
