Bon Iver have discovered another outlet to reach a mass audience. The Justin Vernon-led outfit found themselves on the set of 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' this morning (April 19). Bon Iver played two songs from their recent self-titled album, including a televised performance of 'Towers.'

We have to admit, it was a little surreal watching the Eau Claire, Wisc., folk band playing on daytime television. A beardless Vernon seemed a little nervous after they were done playing 'Towers' as Ellen walked up to him. The crowd gave a respectable reaction but it's difficult not to think that most of those in attendance had no idea who Bon Iver were.

The band also performed 'Michicant' for a web-exclusive feature for the show. It definitely wasn't a style of music that Ellen could bust out her usual dance moves to. However, it seems the TV host genuinely digs the band judging by her comments. You can watch both performances below.

The 2012 Grammy winners recently completed their first headlining set at Coachella last Saturday (April 14) to much acclaim. They hope to repeat their performance during the second weekend at the festival this Saturday. After that the band will resume their North American tour on April 22 for a sold out show in Santa Barbara, Calif.
