The Yeah Yeah Yeahs have announced an April 16 release date for their forthcoming fourth album, which will be titled 'Mosquito' and feature an extremely weird album cover by filmmaker/animator Beomsik Shimbe Shim. (That's it to the left.)

Like the band's last album, 2009's 'It's Blitz,' 'Mosquito' was produced by Dave Sitek of TV on the Radio and Nick Launay. This time around, however, ex-LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy produced one track, which Dr. Octagon (aka Kool Keith) is featured on.

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs premiered two songs expected to appear on the album during a show on Friday night in Pomona, Calif. One of the new songs is titled ‘Suck Young Blood,’ while the other's title was not revealed. Watch video of both here.

"It's extremely lo-fi," singer Karen O told Pitchfork of the album. "We had a s---ty drum machine, a s---ty sampled keyboard, tons of delay on the vocals. There's a real tone, character, and style to it. And it's probably some of the most tongue-and-cheek stuff that we've done in a while."
