Formed in 2002, 10 Years rode in at the tail end of the '90s alt-rock wave that brought us Tool, A Perfect Circle and Deftones. They carried the torch into the aughts, with their 2008 full-length 'Division' reaching No. 12 on the Billboard charts. Today they bring us the B-side acoustic version of their single 'Soma,' from their latest, this year's 'Minus the Machine.'

Even though this is the acoustic version of 'Soma,' it's not exactly a John Denver track. It's still very much a rock tune, filled with the kinds of dark, minor modalities that fans of driving alt rock will love.

About this acoustic B-side, 10 Years' label tells Diffuser.fm, "This version of 'Soma' was recorded with Brian Vodinh (drummer/guitarist/producer) and Jesse Hasek (lead singer) acoustically for the iTunes deluxe version of 'Minus the Machine.' I know it’s about an ending, or the end of something. The world, perhaps? Y2K? It has some haunting and dark undertones."

Remember Y2K? That was perhaps the most anticlimactic doomsday in world history. Dec. 21 might outdo it. Either way, you'll need a soundtrack -- so grab 'Soma' below, and see 10 Years on tour while the world's still around—tour dates here.
