2017’s Most Anticipated Albums
With the curtain dropping on 2016, we’re looking forward to the music we can expect to hear in the new year. These are the 30 Most-Anticipated Albums Coming in 2017.
You won’t have to wait long. For instance, music legend Brian Eno is dropping his next album on Jan. 1 (thanks for the New Year’s gift, Eno!). Plus, the first month of the year will see new releases from the Flaming Lips, AFI and Dropkick Murphys, among others. Once January is over, we can also expect records from Ryan Adams, Depeche Mode and the debut from a new supergroup, Crystal Fairy.
Some of the albums in this gallery are a continuation of an already-released project (U2, Modest Mouse), while many others could mark a new evolution in their band’s sonic approach. The year will most likely deliver the first-ever solo albums from veterans such as Zack de la Rocha and Liam Gallagher along with the first new album from the Jesus and Mary Chain since 1998. Although we don't have street dates for them yet, we should witness the “fourth stage” of Gorillaz as well as new music from Arcade Fire, the Killers, the National and the Strokes.
Let’s take a look at everything that’s coming our way.
