ATO Records Hints at Alabama Shakes’ Upcoming Sophomore Album

Today (Jan. 22), ATO Records shared a picture of the Alabama Shakes in the studio and captioned it, “Very exciting Alabama Shakes news coming soon!”

This only leads us to believe that we will soon receive some official news regarding the band’s forthcoming follow-up to their 2012 debut, ‘Boys & Girls’ -- and we couldn’t be more excited. Check out the photo below:

Alabama Shakes’ sophomore effort is due out this year, and ATO’s Instagram teaser comes shortly after the announcement that the blues rock outfit will be performing at Mountain Jam this summer. They join a roster that includes Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, the Black Keys and more. The festival runs June 4-7 at Hunter Mountain, New York.

When ‘Boys & Girls’ arrived nearly three years ago, it helped launch the Brittany Howard-fronted outfit to fame and earned the Shakes three Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist and Best Rock Performance for their hit single, ‘Hold On.’
