Billy Corgan Leaves Resistance Pro Wrestling, the Organization He Founded
Over the weekend, Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan announced his departure from Resistance Pro Wrestling via his official Twitter account:
For those fans who aren’t familiar with Resistance Pro, it is exactly what you think: a professional wrestling organization. Corgan founded it in 2011, basing it in Illinois. Resistance Pro’s first-ever event was held on Nov. 25, 2011 at Chicago’s Excalibur nightclub and featured 22 wrestlers.
Earlier this year it was reported that Corgan was working on a reality TV show based on Resistance Pro, supposedly with AMC. Though, it wasn’t long after that project was reported that it was shut down.
The next event with Resistance Pro is slated for Jan. 17, 2015 at 115 Bourbon Street in Merrionette Park, Ill. Get details here.
