Brand New will release a new song on Friday called “I Am a Nightmare,” and it hearkens to the old Brand New you loved around 2003.

Produced by longtime collaborator Mike Sapone, “I Am a Nightmare” is the first new song from the Long Island emo instution since they shared “Mene” in April 2015. According to a press release, both songs will be on the follow-up to 2009's Daisy, which could arrive this year. Back in January, Jesse Lacey and the boys also officially released a 10-year-old collection of demos that infamously leaked before the band's brilliant 2006 effort The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me.

"I Am a Nightmare" will be released digitally on May 20 and on 12" vinyl.

Next month, Brand New will also embark on a co-headlining tour with Modest Mouse.
