Congratulations to Cake on becoming Diffuser.fm's Sound Off winner for their second week straight! Cake first beat out the Big Pink with their track 'The Winter,' and more recently, they edged out Silversun Pickups for the second consecutive win. Now, Cake's 'The Winter' will be pitted against Neon Trees' 'Everybody Talks' in this week's fan-voted Sound Off.

Fans have been loving Cake's new song 'The Winter,' which is one of the tracks off of the group's latest release 'Showroom of Compassion.' Like the title suggests, 'The Winter' invokes the lonely feelings that are often associated with the colder, snowy months, with melancholy piano keys, drawn out horns, and jingle bells accompanying John McCrea's longing vocals.

On the other hand, Neon Trees have produced a song on the opposite spectrum of things with 'Everybody Talks' (which you might've heard on that Buick commercial from TV). The uptempo, danceable song has a definitive pop-rock sound, with an effervescent beat and a catchy, sing-along hook. When the song premiered, singer Tyler Glenn told Rolling Stone, "I wasn’t trying to reach for this hipster gold medal," and later explained that the song was inspired by artists like "Roy Orbison" and also "the Motown music that my dad listens to."

Which song is give you goosebumps and which one needs get the boot? Listen to both tracks below and vote for either Cake's 'The Winter' or Neon Trees' 'Everybody Talk' in this week's Sound Off -- the poll will remain open until Monday, April 16 at 11AM EST.

Rules: If the same artist wins for four weeks straight, their song will be retired and inducted into Diffuser.fm’s Sound Off Hall of Fame. With so many great tracks out there, we have to give other musicians a chance to partake in our Sound Off.
