The next potential 'Celebrity Jeopardy' champion has been located. Gotye, the chart-topping singer who performed on 'Saturday Night Live' and at Coachella last weekend, humbly showed up to a pub trivia night in San Francisco on Monday and destroyed the competition.

The singer, born Wouter De Backer, introduced himself to patrons as "Wally," a nickname he uses when he's not performing. A patron told SF Weekly what went down during rock 'n' roll trivia night at Minx:

So last night @ trivia this nerdy dude comes in and proceeds to answer every question right. I'm like who the f--- is this genius? We get to talking and he tells me he's Wally and we end up chatting about old exotica and new wave records. This guy had an encyclopedic knowledge of music and was as cool as f---. Turns out it was international pop star GOTYE! WTF I just thought it was my new Aussie friend Wally. Dude could not have been nicer, cooler or smarter about music! Life is weird.

The tipster had photos with Gotye and his posse of Australian friends to back up his story. It seems the singer managed to make friends despite dominating the competition.

At the rate he's going, Gotye won't be able to anonymously blend in with crowds for much longer. 'Somebody That I Used to Know' ascended to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, displacing fun.'s 'We Are Young,' and his album 'Making Mirrors' has risen to a new peak of No. 7. It probably won't be long before rock trivia night will involve Gotye answering questions about himself.
