The annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is set to unleash its wrath across Indio, Calif. on the weekends of April 12 and 17, and as with many previous years, a number of the bands that will appear on the bill will be playing side shows in and around the Los Angeles area. These dates have been affectionately dubbed by festival-goers as "Localchella."

This year, side shows will feature local performances by Tame Impala, Father John Misty, Panda Bear, the War on Drugs, Cloud Nothings, Ratatat, Jenny Lewis, Desaparacidos, Joyce Manor, Brand New, and Swans, as well as recently reunited bands Drive Like Jehu (who will play the Glass House in Pomona on April 8) and Ride (who will hit up the Fox Theater on April 14 with Eagulls).

The full schedule of shows, which will begin on April 7, can be found via Goldenvoice along with various ticketing information.
