Forty years into their career, the Damned are still going strong. Today (October 25), they announced a six-week North American jaunt for next spring and plans to release a new album.

The tour will kick off on April 6 at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles and conclude on May 21 at the Marquee Theater in Phoenix. You can see all the dates below and, for full ticketing information, visit the Events section of their Facebook page.

The group are also looking to return to the studio to deliver their first record since 2008's So, Who's Paranoid?. In keeping with the D.I.Y. spirit that birthed one of punk's original band, they've created a PledgeMusic campaign to raise funds for it. Among the premiums they've offered are a limited-edition 7-inch picture disc of "New Rose," their debut single that just celebrated its 40th anniversary, signed copies of the CD or vinyl of the new record and a handwritten lyric sheet.
