Who says you can't teach an established band new tricks? Depeche Mode will make their first-ever appearance at the annual SXSW festival in Austin this year. The event becomes the veritable hub of the music industry for about a week, so it makes sense for the Mode to head to Texas and promote their new album, 'Delta Machine,' due out March 26 via Columbia. To paraphrase the group, it's a question of timing.

Band members Martin Gore, Dave Gahan and Andy "Fletch" Fletcher will sit down for an intimate discussion and offer a unique look at the inner workings of the band. This fireside chat of sorts will take place on March 13 at 5PM at the Austin Convention Center and will be moderated by KCRW Music Director Jason Bentley, host of 'Morning Becomes Eclectic,' a signature program on the Los Angeles public radio station.

During the chat, Gore, Gahan and Fletcher will pull back the curtain to talk about the past, present and future of Depeche Mode. SXSW attendees with music and platinum badges and artist wristbands can attend.
