Dinosaur Jr. Releases ‘Goin Down,’ Second Song From From New Album
We're less than two weeks away from the release of Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not, the 11th album from Dinosaur Jr., and they've now given us another glimpse of what they are. The second single from the record, "Goin Down" has been released.
Right now, the studio version can only be heard by those with a Spotify account, which is embedded below. However, the band performed it live during their appearance on the BBC's Later ... With Jools Holland back in May, and you can see that above.
Prior to this, the band offered up one other song, "Tiny," whose video features frontman J Masics' bulldog, Beefy, riding on a skateboard. Last week, they did something a little different in previewing the record with "Solo Extractions," a seven-minute supercut of all of Mascis' guitar solos found on the record.
Dinosaur just wrapped up a spell as the opening act on Jane's Addiction's tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of Ritual de lo Habitual. They have a handful of dates scheduled between tomorrow (July 27) and Aug. 14 before heading off for a few shows in Tokyo. They begin a month-long North American tour on Sept. 7 in New Haven, Ct., and will go to Europe in late-October for a month. You can see all the dates at Dinosaur Jr.'s website.
Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not is Dinosaur Jr.'s fourth album since the original lineup of Mascis, Lou Barlow (bass) and Murph (drums) reunited in 2005 after breaking up in 1997. Their last release was 2012's I Bet on Sky.
