Early Acoustic Smiths + Morrissey Demos Emerge Online
Early Smiths and Morrissey demos have surfaced on the fan site Morrissey-Solo.
A user under the name Uncleskinny has shared a series of demos and alternate takes to the fan site, including an early version of the Smiths’ The Queen Is Dead track “Never Had No One Ever.” There are also a series of demos from Moz’s solo catalog: “Bengali in Platforms” from his 1988 debut Viva Hate; Beethoven Was Deaf’s “He Knows I’d Love to See Him”; and Southpaw Grammar’s “The Boy Racer,” “Southpaw” and an acoustic rendition of “Nobody Loves Us.” Take a listen to all of the tracks at the bottom of the page.
Morrissey dropped his most recent solo LP World Peace Is None of Your Business in 2014.
