Echosmith Perform ‘Cool Kids’ on American Idol Season Finale

American Idol was entertaining for the first time in a long time during its season finale Wednesday night (May 13) when Echosmith took the stage to perform their hit "Cool Kids," joined by show contestant Joey Cook. Check it out:

Echosmith have been on a tear recently: Their rising profile will be highlighted by their performance at the Rock in Rio USA Festival in Las Vegas this weekend, which we recently spoke with them about. An American Idol appearance may not be the indicator of smashing success as it once was — especially since the once-important show was just canceled — but this most certainly is: They were covered a capella by the Muppets earlier this month:

The group is on the road at the moment and will remain busy until late October, occupied by appearances at festivals like Pukkelpop and Lowlands, as well as various other dates opening for Twenty One Pilots. Check out the full slate here.
