Only a few months out from the release of their third album, ‘Three Poisons,’ Canadian outfit Elephant Stone are putting out even more new material -- this time, in the form of a cover of the Tom Petty classic, ‘Into the Great Wide Open.’

If you’re familiar with Elephant Stone’s psych-rock sound, you probably won’t be surprised that the Montreal-based act puts their signature thumbprint on the cover. You’ll recognize the Heartbreakers tune immediately, but the trio incorporates their ambient vocals and traditional Indian instruments, like the sitar, to make it their own.

You can stream the cover below or purchase it -- along with ‘Three Poisons’ -- on iTunes.

And because we love making comparisons, check out Tom Petty's original version below. How do you think Elephant Stone did? Let us know in the comments!
