Fall Out Boy + Wiz Khalifa Bring Dose of Rock to Billboard Music Awards
Fall Out Boy and Wiz Khalifa, as unlikely a pairing as they may seem, will be hitting the road together this summer, and they gave a preview of their upcoming collaborative stint during tonight's 2015 Billboard Music Awards with a performance of Fall Out Boy's "Uma Thurman" — there's an official remix of the song on which Khalifa features, so it makes sense.
Patrick Stump and company took to an elevated stage, in front of which dancers, dressed in white button-up shirts, black pants and black wigs — much like the titular actress in her famous Pulp Fiction role — went about their business while the band busted out an engaging slice of electronic-influenced rock. Wiz Khalifa eventually emerged for his verse, amusingly donning the same outfit as the dancers.
If this performance is any indication of their upcoming road dates together, their tour might end up proving that you can mix oil and water. "The Boys of Zummer Tour," which also features Hoodie Allen, kicks off in June and concludes with a performance at L.A.'s Hollywood Bowl on August 10.
