It's tough enough for an indie band to get by today, so it's unfortunate to have to hear news like this: London psychedelic rockers Fat White Family wrapped up their North American tour by having about $20,000 worth of gear stolen from their van in San Francisco.

In a couple Facebook posts from yesterday, the band wrote:

some honorable gentleman broke into our van and stole ALL of our stuff in san francisco last night. if anyone sees any of our guitars floating around the city LET US KNOW. god bless the tweekers of san fran!

It's a shame their successful North American stint, which included a performance at the Levitation festival and an appearance on the Late Show With David Letterman, had to end like this. If you're in the San Francisco area, do what you can to lend a hand so Fat White Family can keep on doing what they do -- buying some merch and music would probably help out too.
