Fitz and the Tantrums + Big Data Bring Massive Dance Party to New York City
When it comes to the live show of Los Angeles' Fitz and the Tantrums, it can be summed up in just a few words: non-stop energy.
Last night (Nov. 12), we had the pleasure of catching them at New York City's Terminal 5 -- 80 minutes of high-intensity and constant rock and roll. The band took little time between songs to chit-chat; instead, they focused on pummeling the crowd with hit-after-hit for the huge 17-song set. The crowd exploded for songs like 'The Walker' and 'Get Away,' and ate up every second of their latest single, 'Fools Gold.' One highlight (of many) came in the middle of the show when they busted out a near-perfect cover of the Eurythmics' 'Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This).'
In a recent interview, frontman Michael Fitzpatrick said, “You just leave it all on that stage at night ... we always try and play every show like we’re playing our last show and give it everything we have." When the venue emptied after the concert, Fitz's sentiments rang true -- they gave it all they had for the entire night.
Opening the evening were the under-the-radar Big Data, who are still flying high from the success of their massive single, 'Dangerous.' Setting the stage for what turned into one gigantic dance party, Big Data were the ultimate support for the vibrant enthusiasm of Fitz and the Tantrums.
