As the Foo Fighters prepare for the U.S. debut of their eight-episode HBO documentary series, 'Sonic Highways,' they have unleashed the first full song from their upcoming album -- and it rocks. Listen to 'Something From Nothing' above -- and for the love of all that's holy, crank it up.

'Something From Nothing' finds the band in the studios of Chicago's Electrical Audio, with special guest Rick Nielsen from Cheap Trick. In a span of four-and-a-half minutes, the song travels through several different dynamics, from a signature calm opener to a crushing bridge -- and some Dio-inspired guitar riffs for good measure.

Nielsen joins the Foo Fighters on the 'Late Show With David Letterman' tonight -- whether they'll play this song or do another cover like they've done the three previous nights, only time will tell.

In the meantime, listen to 'Something From Nothing' over and over again. If you're like us, you'll be screaming, "F--- it all, I came from nothing!" after the first spin.
