Gwen Stefani Heard About No Doubt’s New Band With Davey Havok Online
Right after Gwen Stefani revealed her plans to release her first solo album in a decade, This Is What the Truth Feels Like, her No Doubt bandmates made their own announcement: They are starting a new band with AFI’s Dave Havok as their frontman. During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Stefani admitted she didn't hear about the band until news circulated online.
“I actually heard about it on the internet,” she said. Stefani noted the supergroup isn’t No Doubt but rather a separate side project. “They’re doing a side project,” she continued. “They want to be in a punk band. It’s not No Doubt. All the guys from No Doubt are doing a new band, just to do new music.”
It sounds like there aren't any hard feelings between Stefani and the rest of No Doubt, but when Kimmel asked what would happen if Stefani wanted to return to the band, she said she didn’t know and would have to “text Tony [Kanal]” but figured it would ultimately come down to a vote between her and Havok. This Is What the Truth Feels Like is out March 18 via Interscope. Stefani has already shared album singles “Used to Love You” and “Make Me Like You.”
