BBC Radio 1 host Zane Lowe has been known to preside over some interesting covers on his show -- and during Hot Chip's recent visit to promote their upcoming album, they did not disappoint, serving up a live-in-the-studio rendition of the Prince classic 'If I Was Your Girlfriend.'

Their 'Girlfriend' cover, blended with the new song 'Look at Where We Are,' is available to stream (along with the rest of the show) at the BBC website.

Hot Chip's new album, 'In Our Heads,' is due to be released on June 11 under the band's new deal with Domino Records. The self-produced collection includes 11 tracks -- unless you pick up the Japanese import, which tacks on the bonus cuts 'Doctor' and 'Jelly Babies' -- adding up to right around an hour of new music.

The band's BBC appearance is part of what's shaping up to be something of a British media blitz, including an appearance on the venerable late night TV show 'Later...With Jools Holland,' during which they delivered another live performance of 'Night and Day' (which you can check out here).

North American fans can look forward to getting their own taste of Hot Chip live and in person when the band touches down here for a string of tour dates later this summer. Take a look at their tour itinerary here.
