Liam Gallagher’s Beady Eye has officially acquired a new member: Kasabian's Jay Mehler. The guitarist recently parted ways with Kasabian to join the former Oasis frontman's new outfit, and from the looks of things, the split from his former band was an amicable one.

Kasabian shared their thoughts on Mehler’s departure via Facebook, writing, "Jay is our bro we're all good and the last six years have been mega. He's moving on and will be incredible in Beady Eye. We thought posting an awesome video was the best way to let you guys know that he will be missed, but here it is in black and white too. Sergio x." Check out Mehler’s impressive guitar skills in the video below.

Beady Eye have reportedly been working on a new album, the follow-up to their 2011 release ‘Different Gear, Still Speeding.’ An official statement indicates that they’ve teamed up with producer Dave Sitek, and that the “release date is yet to be confirmed but the as yet untitled album will come out in 2013."

The band is also on the lineup for T in the Park and V Festival. Click here for more info.
